Regal Hotels Raised One Million Dollars Matching Donation for UNICEF Earthquake Relief Work in Yan’an Sichuan
In view of the massive earthquake struck in Sichuan Ya’an of China this April, Regal Hotels Group donated a total of HK$1,000,000 to Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) for supporting UNICEF’s relief and reconstruction work in affected areas. The donation was generated from the matching of hotel buffet revenues as well as staff and guest donations from Regal Hotels Group.

Majority of the proceeds was generated from the revenue of lunch and dinner buffets at coffee shops, including the 10% service charge and excluding deduction of costs, at five Regal Hotels in Hong Kong on 29 April 2013.
In addition, Regal Hotels placed UNICEF HK donation boxes to raise cash donations from hotel guests and associates. To further support the campaign, Regal Hotels Group made a 1:1 matching to the proceeds of both buffet revenues and cash donations, making a total of HK$1,000,000.
