Picturesque Vilnius, in Lithuania, is set to become the centre of the meetings industry next month, with delegates from over twenty countries visiting the first CONVENE exhibition. Organisers Vilnius Convention Bureau have been inundated with applications for their Hosted Buyer Programme, and all indications are that attendance at the event – on the 13 & 14 February, 2013 – will smash through all targets.
A 55-strong team of exhibitors will be showcasing the facilities on offer in the six countries around the Baltic Sea.
Over 2000 meetings between buyers and exhibitors have already been organised, and it looks like plenty of new deals will be agreed at CONVENE.Meanwhile, international buyers have eagerly snapped up all the places on special familiarisation trips, to get personal experience of the delights of the area. In fact, the programme has seen so much interest that the organisers have had to add extra capacity to meet demand.
Exhibition Director Jolanta Beniuliene said: “It seems everyone wants to see Vilnius! We couldn’t be happier – we’ve long known of the potential of the Baltic Sea Region, but now we’re able to share our passion with the rest of the world. “With this early success (before we’ve even opened the doors!)
