TKS Exhibition Services Ltd., fair organizer of International Travel Expo and MICE Business & Travel Expo, today announced that it will team up with Baobab Tree Event Management Co., Ltd. to launch the 2012 International Study Tour Conference (“2012 ISTC”), Hong Kong’s first-ever event dedicated to study tour, at this year’s ITE & MICE. The event will be held on 15-16 June 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong.
Organized by TKS with the event professionally managed by Baobab Tree Event, 2012 ISTC offers a comprehensive conference program and workshop addressing the needs from the industry as well as end users. Renowned industry experts from local and overseas will be invited as speakers to give practical insights to attendees.
This two-day Conference will be specially designed with the first day targeting professional trade visitors in the industry while the second day for general public to cater to different audiences. Hot topics like how to organize a study tour, how to select a suitable travel agent, location selections, etc. will be addressed in the sessions designed for trade visitors, while topics to share hints with parents in choosing study tours will be highlighted in the sessions for general public.
“We welcome the partnership with Baobab Tree Event whose professionalism will help better ensure the success of the ISTC. The Conference will complement other themes such as honeymooning, enhancing the appeal of our travel expo to visitors,” said K S Tong, managing director of TKS.
“Demand for study tours keeps increasing in recent years. Many parents and schools are willing to organize and spend on this aspect. Since this is a fresh learning concept, they are eager to look for information. The introduction of 2012 ISTC offers an open platform for people to exchange ideas and share the latest development in this aspect,” said Culsin Li, managing director of Baobab Tree Event.
With government’s emphasis on all-round development and lifelong learning, flexible, inspiring and diversified teaching methods have been adopted by more teachers and schools. Incorporating learning goals into travel experience, study tours are getting more and more popular. According to a leading travel agents in Hong Kong, sales of study tour recorded double digit growth in summer of 2011, some as high as 80%.
2012 ISTC will be a co-located event with ITE & MICE 2012. The Conference is supported by the Hong Kong Child Intelligence Development Association. For more information about the Conference, please visit http://istc.itehk.com . For more information about ITE & MICE 2012, please visit www.itehk.com.
