Thai Airways and the Aviation Ministry have announced that the Joint Venture with Tiger Airways in Singapore has been cancelled. The Lowcost Airline Thai Tiger Airways is dead. Thai Airways has now announced that they will bring out a own new Lowcost Carrier “ Thai Smile” which will be owned 100 % by Thai Airways.

Kurt Ritter: 35th anniversary with The Rezidor Hotel Group
The Swiss hotelier Kurt Ritter celebrates his 35th anniversary with Rezidor. In 1976, he joined the company as General Manager of the SAS Luleå Hotel in Sweden. Since 1989, he heads Rezidor as the President & CEO, and is most probably the longest serving Chief Executive Officer of the hospitality industry. Rezidor’s Board of Directors recently extended Ritter’s contract until 2015.
MAS confirms Ahmad Jauhari as MD
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has confirmed corporate veteran Ahmad Jauhari Yahya as its new managing director in a filing to the Bursa Malaysia this evening. The appointment is to be effective September 19, 2011. The Malaysian Insider reported his appointment.
