EVA AIR Awarded Magellan Gold
EVA AIR’s Elite Class premium economy is the 2011 Magellan Award Gold winner in the economy class category for international carriers in Travel Weekly’s prestigious annual recognition of the best in travel. Presented with the theme, Economy Becomes a Pleasure, the cabin was selected by a panel of travel-industry professionals. EVA illustrated its exceptional Seating, Entertainment & Communication, Cuisine and Thoughtful Service elements by using an Elite Class Interactive Demo.
EVA was one of the first airlines ever to give passengers a choice in-between economy and business. By consistently improving and upgrading Elite Class, EVA has kept seats in high demand among both business and leisure travelers.
Elite Class is similar to domestic business in service, comfort and amenities, providing wider seats and more legroom than in Economy. Cabin service includes a menu of beverages and seasonal Western and Asian foods, from Haagen-Dazs ice cream to Taiwanese treats. Friendly cabin crews tidy lavatories in-flight. Passengers check in at Elite Class counters and have a two-bag allowance of up to 61 lbs. per piece.
Travel Weekly and TravelWeekly.com are leading travel industry news resources. Entries in the 2011 Magellan Award competition came from top travel organizations and professionals worldwide. An award official described selection as a winner to be “a tremendous achievement that represents a high standard of excellence.”
