Christmas aircraft, music videos and airberlin chocolate hearts in a special edition
On the first day of Advent airberlin is taking off into the Christmas period with an extensive package and is offering its passengers a heart-felt Christmas service. A special Christmas edition of the popular airberlin chocolate hearts will be available on board during Advent. Every weekday from 16:00 the airline is offering passengers on German domestic flights free mulled wine. As in previous years, airberlin passengers can take Christmas trees up to 2 metres tall for free as of 1 December. All that is required is 48 hours notice before departure to the company’s Service Centre.
For the first time airberlin is introducing a Boeing 737-800 with a special Christmas livery. The Christmas plane takes off from Helsinki on Sunday 27 November heading for Berlin. On board will be Klaus Santana and a Christmas elf who the airline auditioned on Facebook. On selected airberlin flights during December both will be on hand to ensure the Christmas spirit as part of the Santa Claus Tour.
You can see Klaus Santana reporting live on the Santa Claus Tour 2011 on his Facebook page at facebook.com/klausisantana. At the same time, Facebook subscribers can get clues for the competition “Where is my sleigh?”. Whoever gives Klaus Santana the right tip regarding the location of his sleigh has the chance to win a long-haul flight with airberlin.
The Christmas song “Flying Home for Christmas” is also part of airberlin’s extensive Christmas campaign. You can catch the video that goes with it now at youtube.com/airberlin as well as at airberlin.com. “Flying Home for Christmas” is sung by the duo Carinia Muenz and Armando Lucio. Lucio has been a flight attendant at airberlin for many years. Everyone performing in the video is an airberlin employee. “Flying Home for Christmas” can also be heard on board the airberlin fleet as part of the Santa Claus Tour.
