A statement from Karin Lohitnavy, Master Connector at Midas Public Relation , Bangkok:
Tourism-InsiderHow do you see the flood in your area ?
Karin: Where I live and work no water is yet to be seen- but we have built a wall in front of our door, sealed off the windows and are equipped with sandbags as most places in the city- we look like we are preparing for a heavy assault…
Tourism-Insider: How is your company affected ?
Karin: As we organize events we are planning ahead for the worse in case Bangkok does get flooded and all events need to be postponed to next month- all this is a big headache but we will get through it as we have managed all previous difficult situations.
Tourism-Insider: What is your company doing ?
Karin: We are helping our fellow citizens with our clients as much as possible.
For example tomorrow our team and a cameraman will accompany one of our clients to distribute citronella candles to repel mosquitoes, food and essential items to victims up country.
Tourism-Insider: Do you have any activities to help your staff; to support your company; to help and support your area and peoples?
Karin: we are giving our staff all required time off to make sure their homes and belongings are safe and allowing them to work from home if necessary.
Tourism-Insider: Your personal opinion
After the Tsunami, the Coup, the Yellow shirts, the Red shirts we now have the Flood disaster in Thailand- it seems our city and country keeps being tested and tried- but whatever does not kill us will make us stronger and even more united than before!
