Current state and prospects of development of tourism in Uzbekistan discussed in Tashkent.
The National Press Center of Uzbekistan held a press conference for the media, organized by Uzbekturism on “Development of tourism in Uzbekistan: current status and prospects”.
The main goal of the tourism industry of Uzbekistan is creation and development of a competitive tourist market, providing a significant contribution of tourism to GDP and to the national economy by increasing the number of jobs, tax revenues, and foreign exchange inflows, the press service Uzbekturism reports.
Participants of the press conference: Rustam Mirzaev, Chairman of Uzbekturism, Anastasia Kostyaeva, Director General TNT Expo, the organizer of Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism along the Silk Road-2011″ and Otabek Jalilov, Chairman of the Association of Private Tourist Organizations of Uzbekistan told about how the goals are implemented.
Purposeful speeches by the participants were quite informative and had a lot of interesting facts. Issues of development of the tourist industry in Uzbekistan, implementation of measures to attract more tourists into the country, development of tourism infrastructure, prospects for modernizing this sector were fully covered in the presentation of Uzbekturism.
It should be noted that media representatives showed interest in the marketing the project of Mega-info-tours and asked some questions on its implementation. Not surprising this, as due to the organization of such tours Uzbekistan was already visited by 214 foreign tour agents and media representatives from Italy, Spain, France, Japan, China, Britain, Russia, Netherlands, Hungary, Singapore and other countries. Mega-info-tours extend the tourist seasons and increase the number of days of stay for tourists in our country, as well as show that Uzbekistan is equally attractive in every season and every season is beautiful and interesting in its own way.
The media focused on the project of road infrastructure of tourism, according to which construction of seven complex roadside facilities along the national highway is scheduled this year. Such facilities are intended for short-term stay for tourists and travelers, and should include services such as fast food, convenience and gifts store, sanitary facilities, business centers, providing telephone, fax, internet services and a parking for cars, in short, everything that is necessary for tourists while traveling around the country. Improvement of roadside service, in turn, would promote domestic tourism.
