The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is the main agency undertaking construction and management of Airport Rail Link in accordance with the government’s policy requiring on the construction of mass transit railway system with convenience rapidness, and travel times shortening as well as cost-saving for passengers who wish to travel from downtown Bangkok to Suvarnabhumi Airport. It also helps in alleviating Bangkok’s congestion, upgrading Suvarnabhumi Airport to be the airline hub of Asian region and enhancing the Mass Rapid Transit system in Bangkok towards perfection.
The Airport Rail Link system provides service at the maximum speed of 160km/hrs on an elevated structure parallel with the eastern railway line. It has a distance of 28 kilometers with 8 stations; Paya Thai, Ratchaprarop, Makkasan, Ramkhamhaeng, HuaMak, Ban Thap Chang, Lat Krabang, and Suvarnabhumi. The Airport Rail Link provides with 2 kinds of services.
1. Suvarnabhumi Airport Express (SA EXPRESS LINE)

Suvarnabhumi Airport Express (SA EXPRESS LINE)
Train serves passengers from Bangkok City Air Terminal (BCAT) or Makkasan Station to Savarnabhumi Airport. The approximate travel time is 15 minutes (non-stop). Up to 164 comfortable seats made available for passengers and over 300 luggages can be accommodated.
Suvarnabhumi Airport City Line (SA CITY LINE)
Train serves passengers from Phaya Thai station to Suvarnabhumi Airport. The approximate travel time is 30 minutes, stopping at all 8 stations. Up to 745 passengers can be accommodated per train.

Phaya Thai Station The terminal station of Suvarnabhumi Airport City Line (SA CITY LINE), is located on the east side of Phaya Thai Road and connected to BTS Sky Train at Phaya Thai Station.
Ratchaprarop Station It is located where the Ratchaprarop Road crosses with Nikom Makkasan Road near Pratunam Water Gate. The area is famous for its wholesale prince from clothes, textile and fashion.
Bangkok City Air Terminal (BCAT) or Makkasan Station The terminal station of Suvarnabhumi Airport Express (SA EXPRESS LINE) is equipped with several facilities, for example, check-in counter where passengers can check in within the station premises. The service also includes flight information display and parking area for over 300 cars, over 100 motocycles, bus stops and taxi service. The station is closed to MRT (subway), 400 meters away from BCAT

Ramkhamhaeng Station Ramkhamhaeng Station is located on Ramkhamhaeng Road near Klongton Intersection, Ramkhamhaeng University, Assumption University, Rajamangala National Stadium and department stores within a radius of 2.5 kilometers.
HuaMak Station HuaMak Station is located north of Srinakarin Road and adjacent to HuaMak Railway station of SRT eastern line near Pattanakarn Intersection and Bangkok-Chonburi Motoway. Within a radius of 2 kilometers is KasemBundit Universtiy.
Ban Thap Chang Station Ban Thap Chang Station is located north of Ban Thap Chang Railway Station of SRT eastern line near the Eastern Outer Ring Road and Bangkok-Chonburi Motoway. This suburban area has many well-developed housing and real-estate.
Lat Krabang Station Lat Krabang Station is located on Romklao Raod near King Monglut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and Lat Krabang railway station of SRT eastern line. Due to SRT’s project to extend its line to Chachoengsao provice, this station will be an interchange hub for mass transit in the future.
Suvarnbhumi Station Suvarnabhumi Station is the only tunnel station, a part of which is beneath the passenger terminal in Suvaranbhumi Airport. It can be accessed to Suvarnabhumi Airport buildings from passenger terminal and connected to the airport hotel on the other side. The station is well-equipped with facilities such as lifts, escalators, ramps, flight information display, etc.
