Thanks to TEAMCON, the congress organisation company, the 30th General Meeting and Scientific Symposium of URSI (the International Union of Radio Science) is taking place in Istanbul. It is being held in the Lutfi Kirdar Congress Centre from 13-20 August 2011, organised by TEAMCON.
Teamcon has welcomed around 1500 delegates from 57 countries to Istanbul despite the current international economic problems, the political difficulties of countries bordering Turkey and also the fact that it is the hottest period of the holiday season.
URSI representatives are putting the fact that 8 countries are taking part for the first time down to Teamcon’s success.

Alongside the scientific content of the congress, Istanbul’s appeal as a destination has not only increased the number of delegates but has also had a positive effect on those taking part.
It had a positive effect on the number of people taking part in the courses and education programme which were held before the congress, as well as on the sessions which have been held in 11 conference rooms of the Lutfi Kirdar Congress Centre.

The positive working relationship between URSI’s Turkish International Committee and Teamcon has contributed to the success and quality of the congress.
