airberlin and the Russian airline S7 have extended their codeshare agreement and now operate 47 joint routes. The additional services to numerous destinations within Russia are now available for booking. Passengers can fly on codeshare flights from Berlin, via Moscow, and on to Irkutsk, Samara, Kazan, Perm, Ufa or Rostov. A brand new destination is the major city of Yekaterinburg in the Urals, which, like all other Russian cities, can be reached via Moscow from Düsseldorf, Munich, Frankfurt or Hanover. Flights from Stuttgart to Russia have also been included in the timetable. This therefore marks the first time that all codeshare routes have been integrated in the airlines’ schedule as standard connecting flights.

The codeshare arrangement between airberlin and S7, the largest domestic Russian airline, has been in place since the start of 2009. The passenger volume has increased steadily within two years. During this period the increase in passengers using the service between the capital cities of Moscow and Berlin has been around 75 per cent.
