Connection Plus is Thailand’s flagship annual familiarization trip presenting the best resources and exciting new developments for staging quality meetings and incentives trip in Thailand. Each year, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) qualify executives of internationally recognized corporations, and industry media representatives and invite them to join its annual Connection Plus Programme. Each year, the Bureau will identify key destinations within Thailand to showcase to the visiting delegates. Not only would the delegates learn about new products and gain insight into new trends through seminar and meetings with private sector, they would enjoy special privilege for their companies when they return to Thailand to organize MICE activities.
At the same time TCEB has invited a group of high level international Journalists for a Famtrip to Bangkok and Hua Hin and to attend the Connection Plus. For Germany the Tourism-Insider Editor-in-chief, Joachim Fischer, will attend the famtrip.
Marriott. In the next three years the american Hotelchain will build 24 new hotels in Asia. In this summer, the Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Centre with 720 rooms , five restaurants, 2.000 sqm Eventarea will open. In autumn the Guangzhou Marriott Hotel Tianhe with 320 rooms will be opend.
Maritim. The german Hotelgroup Maritim will in the next four years five new Hotels in China open. 2011 in autumn in Shenyang and in 2012 in Anting, close to Shanghai. The new hotels will be build in Changzhou, at the Taihu Sea and in Hohot, Mongolia.
Alsterhof. The traditional Hotel Alsterhof in Berlin, Germany is sold to an Norwegian Hotelowner.
Malaysia Airlines. In the end of 2012 the malaysian nationalcarrier Malaysia Airlines will join the Airline Allianz „Oneworld“ as the first asian member.
Lufthansa. The german airline has cancelled the three weekly flights to Hyderabad, India from end of october this year. Also cancelled is the Business-Jet Route from Munic to Taschkent, Usbekistan, from Winter 2011.
Condor. With a new agreement between the Thomas Cook Airline and Air North from Whitehorse, the german airline can provide four days a week from summer 2001 flights to Vancouver, Whitehorse and Calgary. In autumn this years Condor starts flights also to Edmonton.
