Staff of Thai Airways International are pressing it to cancel two expense-reduction programmes, saying they jeopardise inflight service

More than 300 Thai flight attendants gathered at the Headquarters in Bangkok´s Chatuchak district yesterday said the Bangkok post. They submitted a petition listing their demands to chairman Ampon Kittiampon before the board meeting. The protesters said they disagreed with reducing the number of flight attendens based on the number of passengers on board and reducing the number of days for breaks during layovers on long-haul flights such as from Thailand to Europe.

They also said passengers numbers sometimes rose abruptly due to last-minute check-ins, while a decrease in the number of days off on layovers would also adversely affect staff performance due to inadequate rest. Mr. Ampon said THAI would never pursue any policies that compromised service quality.
