No fewer than 16 “competing colleagues” from Maastricht & surrounding area, together with the Maastricht Convention Bureau, will be on the road throughout The Netherlands. They will be visiting approximately 38 companies to present Maastricht & region area as a destination for corporate meetings and conventions. “Never before did we visit this many companies in one week,” states Tamara Piatkiewitz-Weide, Sales Manager Meetings & Incentives of the Maastricht Convention Bureau.“This is the third year we are having a sales drive in The Netherlands, and so far the drive with most appointments with potential clients. It is great to see that our formula works.”

When asked what that formula is, Tamara explains: “Together with no fewer than 16 partners, we will all be ‘crossing’ throughout the country to show planners of meetings, conventions and incentives, how attractive and nearby Maastricht & region actually is. A few weeks before the sales drive, we call the planners to make appointments with them. That way, we know that our visit truly is valuable for them as well as for us. With a team of 5 people (all wearing red polo shirts), we visit the office of the planners, who usually have gathered colleagues to join in on the appointment. We compose the teams very carefully, making sure that various organisations (hotels, event organisers, party and dinner locations etcetera), are represented in a team. The planners are more than happy to welcome our team at their office; this way, they get a broad presentation of the meeting, incentive and convention possibilities with just one visit. The success of this formula is proven: we have more appointments than ever and more of our partners join us. Maastricht & region surely can not be missed this week by the Dutch planners!”
