For the first time, Myanmar Hotelier Association (MHA) introduces itself in ITB Berlin 2011. As interests in Myanmar as a new tourist destination are increasing, the association is committed to carry out its role in promoting the tourism industry.

Myanmar Hotelier Association (MHA) is an organization representing the hotels, motels, inns, lodgings and guest houses throughout Myanmar. Founded on the 24th of October, 2002, it has grown considerably over the years and has become an important organization for Myanmar hotel and tourism industry. On the 1st of August, 2005, MHA was officially recognized by Ministry of Home Affairs. MHA now has over 600 members and is working closely with Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, the Union of Myanmar Travel Association and Myanmar Marketing Committee.

”This is the first time for our association to participate in such an event” says Dr.Nay Zaw Aung, representative from the International Relations Committee of MHA.“Our main purpose is to show case Myanmar hotels on the international market and I believe ITB is the best place to start. On the other hand, we are making sure that all Myanmar Hotels live up to International Standards. I’m sure that the experience we get from this event will surely help us a lot to reach our goals.”

MYANMAR PANDA HOTEL SHOWCASED IN ITB BERLIN 2011

As Myanmar’s Hotelier Association participates in ITB Berlin 2011, a few Myanmar hotels were showcased this year. One of them is the Panda hotel in Yangon. Panda is a locally owned private hotel that has been in operation since 1999.
