Last week the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2011 in Phnom Penh was closed.. It was a huge success for the host country,Cambodia. They had neatly accommodated over 1,000 delegates, and, during the two-and-a-half trade day period, most of the booths were busy doing business.Congratulations.

The Ministry of Tourism Cambodia, and the Cambodia private sector, would like to set up a PATA Cambodia Chapter. PATA and the new Cambodian members are planning the first official meeting and Chapter seminar last week of April 2011.

Secondly, Hawaii, was the first home of PATA 60 years ago. Fittingly, next month the PATA Hawaii Chapter will be hosting the PATA executive board for their quarterly meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, on February 18, 2011.

The Hawaii Chapter will also be having their Annual Economic Tourism Seminar on Wednesday, February 16, at the Hawaii Prince Hotel, Waikiki from 8:30am-1:30pm. They are very pleased that John Koldowski, deputy CEO, PATA and head, office of strategy management, will join them as the luncheon keynote speaker.

The Chapter is also planning to update the PATA Gallery of Legends at the Honolulu International Airport on Thursday, February 17 at 2:00pm. Friday, February 18, the PATA executive board meeting will be held at the Hawaii Conven tion Centre. Following this,

the Conven tion Centre has reserved their beautiful Ala Wai Roof-Top Terrace for an evening reception from 5:30pm – 7:00pm. Hawaii Chapter members, guests, and government officials, are invited to meet the PATA executive board members. Refreshments will be hosted by the PATA Hawaii Chapter and the Hawaii Convention Centre. Saturday, February 19, the executive board will have another half day meeting at the Hawaii Prince Hotel, Waikiki.

Said Gloria Henderson, chairwoman, PATA Hawaii Chapter: “The Hawaii Chapter looks forward to welcoming the PATA executive board members and support staff to kick off PATAs 60th anniversary celebration.” Lastly for this week, the third PATA Exchange registration is now open for buyers while the sellers’ tables are as good as sold out.
