In view of the vast travel market in China, Greece is maintaining its “Partner Country” status at the upcoming Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2010 in order to woo the Chinese, despite its current financial crisis in Europe. BITE 2010 will be held at the old CIEC Halls from 25-27 June 2010.
“We are emphasizing on certain segments such as luxury tourism, honeymoon tourism, yachting and sailing, diving tourism and most importantly – Cultural tourism for Chinese travelers”, said Ms Angelos Vlachos, spokesperson from Greece National Tourism Organization (GNTO).For the fifth year, Greece is taking up a sizeable space of 200 net square meters to showcase the various tourist attractions and destinations in the Hellenic country. Ms Vlachos further expressed that the main feature and/or highlight of the GNTO’s booth is to aptly deliver the wide array of major site-seeing infrastructure – The New Museum of Acropolis, famous Greek gastronomy, folk culture, picturesque natural environment and cultural identity to the Chinese market.
The Beijing International Tourism Expo is jointly organized by Conference and Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd (CEMS), CEMS (Beijing) Conference & Exhibition Co.Ltd, Beijing Tourism Administration and Beijing Relation Conference & Exhibition Services Co., Ltd. BITE this year also extends its warm welcome to The Netherlands, Algeria, Libya, Mexico, Kenya and Yemen who are exhibiting for the very first time.
