According to the latest breaking news of www.bangkokpost.com, Col Sansern Kaewkamnerd, spokesman for the Centre for the Resolutions of Emergency Situations (CRES), has warned red-shirt protesters camped in the Ratchaprasong area that troops are waiting for an appropriate time to take back the area.
“Your time is running out. Please leave the area and report to the authorities. This is not a threat. This is real,” he said on Thursday.
He urged innocent people to leave the rally site and return home.
“If you leave and report to authorities then you will not be prosecuted, but after we take action then you will be arrested and prosecuted. Authorities will take decisive action against protesters when they disperse the mob,” he said.
According to Col Sansern, there were about 6,000 red-shirt protesters at the site on Thursday morning, although the number was around 14,000 on Wednesday night. A red-shirt march into the business mile of Silom Road was already cancelled on Tuesday.
