Star Cruises has announced that it has changed its name from ‘Star Cruises Limited’ to ‘Genting Hong Kong Limited’ with effect from November 10, 2009. The change of company name is to align with the corporate strategy of the company in diversifying into land based integrated resorts and entertainment business, in addition to its existing principal business of cruise and cruise related operations. It also reflects the company’s primary place of listing and its affiliation with the Genting Group.

David Chua, President, Genting Hong Kong Limited said, “This re-branding allows Genting Hong Kong to leverage on existing business relations of Genting Group in the region.” The new stock short name of the company, ‘Genting HK’ in English will take effect on the HK Stock Exchange from November 30, 2009. The counter name of the Company for trading of shares on Singapore Exchange will be changed from ‘StarCrusUS$’ to ‘Genting HK US$’ with effect from November 30, 2009. Both stock codes remain unchanged. The corporate website will be changed from www.starcruises.com to www.gentinghongkong.com. All references and materials relating to Star Cruises Limited will be progressively changed to Genting Hong Kong Limited.
