Codeshare flights to Koh Samui, Chiang Mai and Phuket available for booking

Air Berlin strengthens its presence in Thailand. In addition to the direct flights already available to Bangkok and Phuket, Air Berlin passengers can now book connecting flights from the Thai capital to Koh Samui, Chiang Mai and Phuket. This has been made possible by the cooperation agreement with Bangkok Airways. In winter 2009/10 Air Berlin will be operating four non-stop services a week from Düsseldorf, three non-stop services a week from Berlin-Tegel and two non-stop services a week from Munich to Bangkok. Feeder flights will be available from Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Cologne, Münster-Osnabrück, Nuremberg, Vienna and Zurich. Germany’s second largest airline is offering passengers the flights operated by Bang-kok Airways under its own flight number. Customers benefit from a wider choice of flights and convenient connections. The codeshare flights are now available for booking.

Bangkok Airways (www.bangkokair.com), with the ASIA’S BOUTIQUE AIRLINE slogan, is the first private airline established in Thailand since 1968. Taking off daily with about a hundred flights per day from Bang-kok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok Airways flies travelers from around the world to more than twenty exquisite destinations across Thailand and Asia.

Air Berlin is Germany’s second-largest airline company. The company has been listed on the stock market since May 2006. In 2008, Air Berlin transported a total of 28.6 million passengers worldwide. The com-pany employs approximately 8,200 people. In 2008 alone, Air Berlin received more than 10 awards for its service and quality. With an average airplane age of 4.6 years, Air Berlin’s fleet is one of the youngest in Europe. Due to their low kerosene consumption, the company’s modern jets contribute to a sustainable reduction of emissions in air transportation.
