FlyBalaton will be back on April 4, 2009

Spring will bring not only the birds back to the Balaton – the fliers will return, as well! From April 4, 2009 on, FlyBalaton Airport (www.flybalaton.hu) will resume operating after a winter hiatus caused by the general crisis.

Main contributor to the renewed traffic will be weekly flights performed by Lufthansa City Line in a joint initiative by special operator Mutsch Ungarn Reisen and Hévíz Tourism Marketing Association (www.hevizmarketing.hu). They will connect Germany to the western Hungarian thermae region and the Balaton “on the fly” every Saturday via direct flights from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Hamburg. Health resorts such as Hévíz and Zalakaros, as well as resort destinations on the shores of Lake Balaton will be reached in one and a half or fewer flight hours, and vacationers will be swiftly transferred to their booked health and resort hotels via coordinated transfer services. Flight-only tickets from/to Frankfurt, for example, may be booked for a fixed price of 330 euros.

For information, as well as attractive package offers on health resorts and spas, visit www.mutsch-reisen.de.

Additionally, there will be charter flights by Salamon Reisen and its flight partner Hamburg International starting on April 29, 2009, which will alternatingly connect Dresden and Leipzig with FlyBalaton Airport in Sármellék. A mere 70 minutes of flight time will attract not only nostalgics to the former venue for German-German meetings in the 20th year of the fall of the wall. The charter flights will be offered on every Wednesday during the main season at Balaton and end in September. The pure round-trip flight including taxes and fees is 270 euros, plus ten euros of kerosene surcharge. Salamon Reisen, too, has tied relevant spa and health packages to its flight offers.
