Here on a seven-day tour, she arrives in Taiwan during the Tung Blossoms season, and in order to promote Taiwan Hakka culture, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau has specially arranged for Hakka-themed performances and gifts to be given.

According to statistics from the National Immigration Agency, as of March 2009, Taiwan has seen a 1.5% increase in foreign arrivals. This year’s first millionth visitor has arrived two days earlier than expected. Taiwan Tourism Bureau Deputy Director-General Hsieh will be at hand to preside over the event and present the special gifts. The lucky millionth visitor will receive a specially designed E. Despite the current struggling world economy, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau has continuously promoted its Tour Taiwan Years campaign products in an effort to attract more tourists to Taiwan. Beginning this month, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau will organize a series of special events including Acupoint Massage, Proposing at the Observatory of Taipei 101, Travel Experts Touring Taiwan, Cycling in Taiwan and much more, all of which incorporate tourism products such as medical tourism, wedding photography tours, cuisine tours and sports travel, to offer high quality tourism products for foreign visitors.

In addition to this, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau is also actively reaching out to new markets such as Southeast Asia and India, and at the same time, is working closely with Japanese tour operators in increasing the number of Japanese tourists coming to Taiwan. With all these campaigns and partnerships in place, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau is aiming to successfully achieve its goal of welcoming 4 million visitors to Taiwan this year.
