The „Grand City“ hotel collection has doubled in as little as half a year after hotel management company Grand City Hotels & Resorts launched its signature brand by the same name. The group now presents ten hotels in three brand categories in Germany, with additional properties to follow.
The most recent addition is the Grand City Strandhotel Usedom, which will be operating as part of the first-class collection of the signature brand from the second quarter of 2009 on. The up-scale hotel villa is comprised exclusively of suites and located directly by the beach on the popular holiday island. Hotel Excelsior in Berlin, now called Grand City Hotel Excelsior, marked another addition to the company’s up-scale category in early March 2009. The signature brand of Grand City will further be complemented with three standard collection hotels in Berlin, Dessau and Düsseldorf, as well as another first-class hotel in Dresden-Radebeul.
„The signature brand of Grand City is well-received with both, guests and employees, and is already very popular“, GCHR Sales and Marketing Director Sven Doliwa comments on the rapid growth of the signature brand and summarizes: “Already, success proves us right in our aims for the launch of the brand, such as the creation of sympathy and trust, recognition and brand awareness, distinction from competitors and the resulting brand loyalty.“
The company strategy will continue to focus on the cooperation with franchise partners for hotels under renowned brands, which make up the better part of the 60 hotels in the GCHR portfolio. GCHR is further establishing alliances with hotel chains. The third strategic pillar will be the Germany-wide growth of the signature brand in three market categories: The Grand City First Class Hotels are on par with the common four-star classification, the Grand City Standard Hotels are considered analog to the three-star category, and the Grand City Budget Hotels are comparable to the two-star standard.
