Carpe Diem – Carpe ITB-Cinema!

 

Top-class films of cities, countries, regions, hotels and the tourism industry will be shown at the international film competition Das Goldene Stadttor – The Golden City Gate at ITB-Cinema from March 11 to 15, 2009 during the ITB-Berlin.

 

The film competition The Golden City Gate brings together representatives, managers and marketing experts of the industry.

 

The Golden City Gate is a show of the best films and media of the tourism industry and international regional marketing. It showcases the newest ideas in tourism promotion and demonstrates how tourism marketing is implemented in an informative and emotional fashion to instill wanderlust in people.

 

In 2008, the Diamond Award, the most prestigious among all the categories, was awarded to Sarawak for their film “Recharge in a New World”.
40 judges from the fields of politics, economy, sciences and the arts will assess the entries following strict criteria. Of course, the jury will also include representatives of international hotel and city marketing.

 

The awards will again be covered by various TV channels this year. BBC, CNN and Deutsche Welle-TV covered the competition last year, already.

 

There is a couch at ITB-TV corner that attendees may use for their statements, which the hosts will gladly professionally videotape for them.

 

Accompanying the film competition, there will be an assessment of brochures and campaigns of hotels, states and cities, to be judged in the category “Print – Advertising”.
In 2008, the first prize was awarded to the Langham Fairytale Campaign (Langham Hotel Hong Kong).

 

Last time’s winner in the “Websites / On-line Advertising” category was the Egypt Tourist Authority, who put on an impressive display of their innovative campaign, created by DDB France.

 

The Golden City Gate is an excellent opportunity for gaining many new contacts by means of a presentation at ITB-Cinema. The organizers will provide interested parties with the ITB-Cinema stage for their presentations.

 

The deadlines for entries has been prolonged until February 18, 2009. Hotels may also enter their print and web sites. More information and application forms at: www.das-goldene-Stadttor.de.
