The internationally read hotel and gastronomy critic Heinz Horrmann will launch his new television show in spring. The renowned journalist, whose column also appears in Top hotel, will analyze and save establishments in trouble as „Hotel Inspector“ on RTL.

The production company Granada Media Deutschland had received applications from more than 80 hotels. During the first season of the new live documentary series, privately run establishments from North Sea to Black Forest will be „turned upside down“. Horrmann, who is known for his sharp tongue and quill – and not always popular – comments relentlessly, but accurately on the sometimes all too obvious short-comings. The participants take his sharp-witted analysis and his cordial, but emphatic advice to heart – for the most part, at least.

The „Hotel Inspector“ is Horrmann’s second big TV show. Since summer 2008, he is part of the jury of „Kocharena“ (Vox) and has since matched wits with many a professional chef. Horrmann used to be editor-in-chief with „Welt“ and „Welt am Sonntag“ for many years and still regularly issues his columns, which are widely acknowledged by the domestic and international hotel management. The critic hailing from the Rhineland has released 33 books, so far, and is currently writing on volume four of the series „In fremden Betten (In foreign beds)“ (Klocke Verlag) and a re-edition of his successful guide „Die 99 ultimativ besten Hotels der Welt (The ultimately best 99 hotels in the world)“.
