On Wednesday, March 11, 2009, the best of the best Asian travel providers will be awarded at ITB.
During a festive gala performance at Viethaus in Berlin-Mitte, Leipziger Straße 55, the „Go Asia Award 2009“ will be awarded in six categories:
Best Asian air carrier, best tourist board, best tour operator for Asian destinations and most popular destination in Asia. The categories of „best Asian hotel/ hotel chain“ and „most innovative trip“ will be newly introduced this year.

Until February 15, people with an interest in Asia will be able to cast their votes at www.goasia.de. The top three in each category will receive a trophy, the „Go Asia Crystal Award“, a certificate, and an electronic signum to be used freely on their home pages or for printing in catalogs. This certificate serves as seal of quality and as an award for exceptional merit in the area of Asian travel culture.

The award is unique in Germany, enjoys an increasingly good international reputation and will, for the first time ever, be awarded by an audience of experts in the tourism industry and the public interested in Asia in 2009.

Tickets for the festive evening event can now be ordered from Go Asia. Tickets are available for 75 euro, provide access to the restaurants of Viethaus and to the ball room, and include the festive award ceremony, the culture program, the raffle, an exquisite Asian buffet, drinks, and participation in the lottery. The Go Asia Initiative unites tourist boards and airlines from Asia, as well as tour operators with a particularly interesting Asia program. The association was established in 2003 and aims to improve promotion in the German-speaking region. This is facilitated by joint marketing schemes such as the Go Asia home page, trade fair presences, media relations and educational concepts.
