The American State of Georgia has launched a new internet presence in German. The state-run travel agency of Georgia in Bielefeld informs about attractions, museums and history at www.georgia-usa.de. It also offers news and radio streams, as well as the possibility to win a CD with music by stars such as Otis Redding, Gladys Knight and the Pips and the Allman Brothers.

Georgia offers everything that makes the south of the USA so interesting: from the cosmopolitan city of Atlanta, home of the CNN studios and the Martin Luther King memorial, over art museums, such as the High, and shopping, to column-adorned plantation houses in the cotton fields. There is blues, gospel and country music. Georgia’s atlantic coast is famous for sandy beaches, the beautiful colonial town of Savannah and 15,000 alligators in the Okefenokee Swamp. Travelers hike on quiet paths in the Appalachian Mountains and pan for gold. The internet presence informs about all of this.
