The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi’s $20 million investment in its legacy will glitter anew at the PATA Gold Awards 2010 Sept. 17 as one of Vietnam’s most illustrious hotels accepts the top award in the  Heritage category. The award lauds the hotel for its efforts to refresh one of Southeast Asia’s most treasured properties and for Sofitel’s relaunch of the Metropole as the hotel group’s first Legend property.

As part of the Ariane 2015 corporate project, Gilles Pélisson has made a number of new appointments. Yann Caillère has been appointed Deputy CEO, in charge of Europe/Middle East/Africa, Sofitel Worldwide, Design and Construction. Yann Caillère, 57, is a graduate of Ecole Hôtelière de Thonon-les-Bains. He began his career outside France before joining Pullman (Frantel, then Compagnie Internationale des Wagons Lits).

For the first time this year, IMEX in Frankfurt surveyed over 1,000 hosted buyers immediately after the show for their views on social media, industry blogs and Smartphone usage.
