The opening of IMEX America 2023 marked a welcome return to form for the global events industry today. With a 20 per cent increase in space taken by exhibitors and a 9 per cent increase in the number of booths – 360 in total – this year’s show is officially the largest in its 12-year history. Nearly half of all exhibiting companies have increased their booth sizes and every sector of the market has grown, the majority by double-digits.

Debut of Pattaya’s City Package: Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) led the Thai Team to an outstanding finish at the recent IT&CM Asia 2023 in Bangkok with a total of 405 leads across three exhibition areas, while Pattaya, one of Thailand’s MICE Cities, debuted its City Package at the show to lure overseas groups. The impressive number of generated leads follows TCEB’s 23 conference bid win performance concluded at the end of the bureau’s 2023 financial year on September 30. Thailand Pavilion (40 exhibitors) generated 135 leads, a 43.6% increase from 94 leads achieved last year.

Chairman of the KRRiT: we immediately agreed on the details of cooperation within the framework of the Warsaw Declaration. “One for all – all for one” – this well-known maxim, according to the head of the KRRiT, is to be the foundation of the Warsaw Declaration signed yesterday, uniting the countries of Central Europe in the fight against Kremlin’s propaganda. The signatories of the agreement will, among others, support each other in straightening out false information that affects the image of their countries or falsifies history.

Sydney Airport is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Scott Charlton as its incoming Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2023. This announcement follows the departure of the outgoing CEO, Mr. Geoff Culbert, in May 2023. Mr. Charlton brings a wealth of experience in infrastructure, transportation, and property sectors to his new role at Sydney Airport. He has served as the CEO of toll road operator Transurban since 2012 and held the position of Group Chief Operating Officer at Lend Lease.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaiboon began her role as the new Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on the 1st.of september.Having been with the TAT in 1999 after earning a master’s degree in science from the University of Surrey in the UK, Ms. Thapanee has held various positions within the organisation, including Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business, and most recently Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing.
