RCD Hotels® broke ground for a major investment project in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The project will see the construction of the first UNICO hotel on the island. The facility will be dubbed UNICO 18º77º Hotel Montego Bay. This project is expected to add an inventory of 451 guest rooms and employee housing complexes to Jamaica’s tourism offerings. The overall investment by RCD Hotels® is expected to create more than 4,000 direct jobs and an additional 5,000 construction jobs during the building phase. RCD Hotels® projects that the completed project will incentivize the arrival of approximately 300-thousand new travelers per year to Jamaica.

The Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort completed its opening by unveiling its final complement of 102 rooms in November 2022. The finishing phase comprised elegant colonial-style rooms with balconies, including 32 interconnecting pairs of rooms designed for families and small groups of friends. With the full opening of the resort in Koh Samui, Outrigger Thailand now has a total of three resorts operational in the region: at Koh Samui, Khao Lak and Phuket.

Tourism Australia is launching its new global ‘There’s Nothing Like Australia’ brand platform today via agency M&C Saatchi, Sydney, with ‘Come and Say G’day’, a new multi-market, mass awareness campaign inviting international travellers to plan and book an unforgettable trip to Australia. The campaign introduces the world to new Brand Ambassador, Ruby, a souvenir kangaroo who is brought to life with CGI animation and is unmistakably Australian. Ruby, voiced by Australian actress and Tourism Australia’s Global Ambassador, Rose Byrne, was unveiled earlier this month as she hopped across billboards around the world in anticipation for the launch.
