Condor is today activating the first part of the 2021 summer flight schedule for short- and medium-haul flights: Germany’s most popular leisure airline will continue to serve the most beautiful holiday regions around the Mediterranean from the eight Condor airports Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, Leipzig, Stuttgart and Berlin in summer 2021. A total of 32 destinations will be served: the Canary Islands and Madeira, the Balearic Islands and Sardinia, Greece, Andalusia, Croatia and Calabria. Egypt and Turkey will also be scheduled again, and weekend flights to Sylt will remain a part of the Condor programme.

The Business Events Council Malaysia (BECM) welcomes the Malaysian Government’s decision to reopen the business events sector, allowing the industry to host domestic events with up to 250 participants effective immediately, under comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The announcement demonstrates the recognition and importance of the business events industry in contributing to economic recovery and affirms the Government’s confidence that the sector can operate safely, and provide a controlled, regulated and secure environment for the commencement of events.

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) today announced an update for its calendar of events for 2020 and 2021.
The upcoming PATA Travel Mart 2020, originally to be held in Leshan, Sichuan, China from September 3-6, will now be organised as a virtual event in late September of this year. The event, held in in conjunction with the Sichuan International Tourism Expo and with the support of the Leshan Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, will include webinars, virtual exhibition space and one-on-one virtual meetings.

Thailand has announced the fourth phase easing of lockdown measures effective 15 June, 2020. The relaxation includes more reopening of businesses, such as organization of meetings, trade fairs and events at hotels, convention and exhibition centers. Hotels and restaurants are among the sectors given more room to operate. Meanwhile, Phuket International Airport has been reopened for domestic flights starting from 13 June, making all international airports in Thailand being in operation mode. Foreign entry into the Kingdom, however, remains restricted.
