Following the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the organiser is in close communication with the Chinese authorities and key stakeholders and it has been decided that the best decision for the tourism industry is to move COTTM 2020 to the new dates of 9-11 September 2020.
The event will still be held at the National Agriculture Exhibition Centre, Beijing.

Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia have all experienced expansive growth within inbound European travelers. Vietnam however stands out as the one country in the region that is currently experiencing an influx of European travelers.
Last year brought 2.2 million European travelers to Vietnam, largely from source markets such as Russia, France, Germany and the UK, which have all experienced considerable growth over the past three years.
European travelers alone spent over US$700bn on the global tourism economy (outbound tourism expenditure) in 2019 and thus are a desirable market for any destination to engage.

The annual China Conference & Business Travel Fair (CCBTF) organised by the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, officially receives full endorsement from ICCA – the global association for the meetings industry.
The endorsement marks the culmination of efforts to further position Shanghai as a leading hub for conferences and supports Shanghai’s local Business Events industry in its transformation to become an international B2B event with strong business appeal. This decision was made during a meeting between Patrick Chen (Director of Marketing and Promotion Department, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism) with Senthil Gopinath (ICCA CEO) and Noor Ahmad Hamid (ICCA Regional Director for Asia Pacific) last month in Shanghai.

Dubai Business Events (DBE), the city’s official convention bureau, recorded a total of 301 successful bids for meetings, conferences and incentives in 2019. Set to attract an expected 150,095 delegates to Dubai over the coming years, the winning bids will deliver approximately 620,000 room nights for the city and, added to wins from previous years, means the total expected hotel room night pipeline stood at 1,031,060 at the start of 2020. The city’s convention bureau also witnessed steady growth of its Al Safeer Congress Ambassadors Programme, with 342 active ambassadors in 2019, up from 316 ambassadors in 2018.

In mid-January, the first cases of the new coronavirus began to be reported. The virus was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China and has continued to spread quickly across the globe. Since then there have been mandatory quarantines, canceled airline flights, and serious effects on the global financial markets.
