Super winter starts in Lapland: Almost 1,000 planes rushing to the north in December! The fantastic route season at Finavia’s airports in Lapland began when the first international routes of the winter from Europe to Kittilä and Rovaniemi opened on 2 December. From the point of Finavia and tourism in Lapland, this will be a real super winter, kicked off by the first flight by Norwegian from London to Rovaniemi, the official hometown of Santa Claus. It was immediately followed by Monarch flights from Manchester and London to Kittilä.In addition, there will be new routes operated by Germania and Lufthansa, which has substantially increased its flights to Lapland, encouraged by the good experiences of last winter.

One of the largest cruise vessels in the world, and the largest cruise vessel to dock into Antigua and Barbuda, the MS Anthem of the Seas, made her presence felt in Antigua and Barbuda today, as she towered over other vessels in Heritage Quay, on her inaugural arrival into Antigua with a host of fan-fare and celebrations from the Government and People of Antigua and Barbuda.Antigua and Barbuda Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Asot Michael extended a warm and hearty welcome to both Royal Caribbean International and MS Anthem of the Seas, her Captain and Crew, during the inaugural ceremony on board the vessel.

The new King of Thailand officially named “HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun The Office of His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary the on Thursday night notified the director-general of Public Relations Department the official name of the new King in Thai and English.
In English, the name of the new King is His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun”.
Meanwhile, at 8 pm on Thursday night, all governors and temples throughout the country chanted Chaimongkon prayers as gongs were sounded to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Thailand having a new King.

The tree must be no more than two metres long and be registered up to 48 hours before departure by calling the company’s Service Centre on +49 (0) 1806 334 334 (€0.20 per call from a German landline). At check-in, the netted tree is handed over as oversize baggage and then collected from the baggage carousel or Bulky Baggage desk, depending on the destination airport.

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) call on the UK government to lift the current ban on UK-based airlines flying to Sharm el Sheikh. In a letter to Prime Minister Theresa May, David Scowsill, President & CEO, WTTC, and Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General, UNWTO, stressed the importance of resuming operations to the Egyptian coastal resort as the current travel advisory is having devastating effects on the country’s economy and social stability. The ban has been in place since a Metrojet airline flying from Sharm el Sheikh to St Petersburg crashed in the Sinai Desert in October 2015.
