The annual ITE & MICE 2012, the 7th MICE Travel Expo, will again be co-located with the 26th International Travel Expo Hong Kong (ITE) for synergy, each of which has its own visitor promotion campaign. It well covers corporate and MICE travel, and travel trade from Hong Kong and the region.
ITE & MICE 2011 drew 12000 buyers and visitors in the two trade days with 73% from Hong Kong, 17% from mainland China and 10% from abroad. Among them were some 5000 from travel agents, 800 from media, and 3000 from corporations and MICE industry.
Buyers and trade visitors welcome the co-location which offers more choices including international destinations which are important for outbound MICE. In fact, the travel fair now has four times more corporate / MICE visitors than before the co-location in 2006, and draws around 100 exhibitors who target MICE. The second trade day is MICE / Corporate Travel Day with related seminars.
Profile of corporate & MICE visitors are: 11% from banking, finance and insurance; 14% from training, education and professional services, 13% from PR, advertising agencies and the event industries etc; 25% in decision making positions, 10% involving in budgeting, 24% in sourcing, and 36% in planning and execution; 86% seeking destination info, 55% venue, and 25% for special offers; 47% said corporation’s travel budget unchanged, and 45% expecting an increase.
The two public days of ITE & MICE draw around 70,000 affluent visitors: 72% prefer FIT and 5% tailor-made tours; 43% with university education and 24% post-secondary.
Last ITE & MICE drew 648 international exhibitors from 56 countries and regions with over 30 official pavilions. Over 80% of the exhibitors came from abroad. Themes like Cruise, Wellness & Medical Tourism, and honeymooning etc are highlighted, and various deluxe travel products on display.
Organized by TKS Exhibition Services Ltd., the next ITE & MICE will be held from June 14 to 17, 2012 at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center (Hall1A-1E). ITE & MICE is supported by China National Tourism Administration, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, and Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), event industry associations in Hong Kong and Macau, and several trade associations in Asia.
