The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) today unveiled three strategic initiatives to boost awareness and confidence in Thailand as a dynamic business event destination.

 

The “Meetings More Memorable and Meetings Plus” campaign will target smaller groups of 25-50 delegates from longhaul markets by offering value added golf, spa, welcome receptions and cultural shows.

The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the apex body which manages the tourism industry in the Arabian Gulf emirate, has launched the third edition of its comprehensive Business Tourism Planners Guide – an expansive 192 publication which charts the growth of the destination’s meetings industry and its geographic expansion outside of the UAE capital city to Al Ain in its eastern province and its Al Gharbia western region.

Opening in 2011, the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) is the first convention and exhibition centre of its kind being built to the premium standard of an internationally recognised green building rating system.

 

The 177,000 square metre facility is going for gold in the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. As the world’s first high-performance green convention centre, it will have state-of-the art systems for water savings, energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality.

Eight Asian visitor bureaus have united to boost the continent’s market share in the growing global business events industry by relaunching the Asian Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus (AACVB). The Association announced today that a new agenda will be implemented and driven by eight convention and visitor bureaus (CVBs) from China, Hong Kong, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
