Argentina gets ready to show off for the third time at EMITT 2014, having participated two years successively in the past, not to mention being a country sponsor at EMITT 2013. Placing great importance to EMITT, Argentina will be represented by the Argentine Tourism Minister, Carlos Enrique Meyer. The country will stage tango performances and portray the country’s far reaching natural and cultural wealth.
Argentina asserts its interest in Turkey by exhibiting at EMITT, the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition, for the third time. The event will be held from 30 January to 2 February 2014 at the TÜYAP Fairgrounds in Istanbul.

Tango lessons during the Fair
Visitors to the Argentina stand will have the chance to see spectacular tango performances and pick up a few Latin steps themselves. Argentina’s Tourism Minister, Carlos Enrique Meyer, will attend the exhibition with fellow Argentinian tourism professionals. Meyer ensures that Argentina will be offering tango lessons throughout the event.

Meyer, stated that the leading reason for their continued attendance at EMITT has been due to their overwhelming interest in Turkey. Meyer adds that Turkey offers huge potential for Argentina, and that they aim in the coming years to increase on the current 4,000 Turkish tourists who visit annually.

Argentina is a country with a variety of geographic regions. Meyer highlights that Argentina is home to a large biodiversity of species, living across lands with various landscapes and climates. Meyer adds that such an advantage provides for an endless array of available amusement for tourists, such as football, tango, polo, golf, trekking, horseback riding, rafting, recreational fishing, skiing, hunting, thermal springs, spas and archaeological ruins. In addition, tourist can taste a unique selection of wines and speciality meat dishes.

Meyer, further commented: “EMITT is a first-class tourism exhibition. Our objective in participating at this fair is to foster and spread the Argentina brand name. Attaining our goal would not only mean an increase in sales for Argentina, but further an increase in the flow of information and in the number of tourists to Argentina from these markets. I would also like to point out that the Turkish Airlines daily flights between Argentina and Turkey, which started in July 2013, has not only increased the number of incoming tourists, but has further encouraged foreign investment in our country.”

An array of natural wonders and sporting experiences
Argentina is widely known for its natural wonders, such as the Iguazú Waterfalls, which comprises of 275 falls and declared as one of the new seven natural wonders in the world.

The country is also acknowledged as a place for sport. The 2014 Dakar Rally route has already been marked out between Rosario in Argentina and Valparaiso in Chile. Furthermore, the MotoGP will officially be returning to Argentina’s newly constructed Termas de Rio Hondo circuit as of next season. EMITT Event Director, Hacer Aydın emphasised that hosting such important events will sure to be an area of interest for visitors to Argentina in 2014.
