Born and educated in Philippines, Ms. Merilo has over 17 years of strong experience in hotel sales and marketing field. Prior to joining Hotel Borobudur Jakarta, Ms. Merilo was based for 4 years in Bangkok, Thailand and previously worked with local and international hotel chains in both Thailand and the Philippines.
Ms. Merilo’s key role in Hotel Borobudur Jakarta is to monitor all revenue centers, optimize the hotel’s revenue performance with focus on rooms and catering sales, enhance the brand image of the property and lead Hotel Borobudur Jakarta’s Sales & Marketing Team in achieving targets.
During her spare time, she loves to explore the city, know it’s the culture, try the local cuisines and experience local life.

Gonzalo Perez Constanzó was unanimously elected to be the new President of IAPCO, from immediate affect following the end of term of Philippe Fournier, the previous President.
Gonzalo is the Managing Director of Kenes Latin America, Chile. He started his career in Buenos Aires, where he worked for Congresos Internacionales S.A. for over ten years. He joined the company as a project assistant and retired as a director. He joined the IMF/World Bank Group in 1997 as the Conferences Officer in their Joint Secretariat; as such he was actively involved with the Annual Meetings of the Institutions which are attended by over 10,000 participants. Having been responsible for the organisation of World Bank meetings in Europe and Asia, Gonzalo left the World Bank in June 2008 to move to Europe to Spanish PCO company Tilesa.

Hilton Worldwide announced the appointment of Sherry Romello as senior director, Hilton meetings and product management. Romello reports to Dave Horton, global head, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and leads efforts to advance the positioning and product development for the meeting and convention segment across all Hilton Worldwide brands, with a significant focus on Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Romello joined Hilton Worldwide from the National Association of Convenience Stores where she held the position of vice president, Meetings & Conventions. Romello began her position in January and is based at Hilton Worldwide’s Global Headquarters.
