The internationally read hotel and gastronomy critic Heinz Horrmann will launch his new television show in spring. The renowned journalist, whose column also appears in Top hotel, will analyze and save establishments in trouble as „Hotel Inspector“ on RTL.

The new year is off to an especially good start for travel agents: Over 100 Best Western hotels in Germany and Luxemburg are inviting travel agents and their accompanying persons to stay for only 31 Euros per person in double rooms. From January 1 to March 31, 2009, travel agency staff and their companions have the possibility to enjoy a particularly inexpensive stay in over 100 Best Western hotels in the most beautiful regions of Germany and Luxemburg.

Travel industry across the globe anticipating slumps – Big chance for tourism in Germany

The global travel industry is facing difficult times: „2009 will be a year of stagnation, at best“, as stated in the ITB World Travel Trends Report, issued by the consultancy IPK International on behalf of the leading trade fairs of the world-wide travel industry. „The situation for the industry will very likely continue to worsen before it recovers“ – this is the forecast of the trend analysis released in Berlin, according to which the travel industry around the globe needs to reckon with a slump of one to two percent in the year 2009 due to the financial and economic crisis.

Not only the president of the Federal Association of the German Tourism Economy, Klaus Laepple, is looking towards the year 2009 with mixed feelings. In his recent interviews and statements, he is suspecting so-called „zero growth“ for the German travel industry. Likewise, he is expecting rough times for tourism companies. He cautions said companies, however, against a „deadly“ price battle.

Situated on the Indochina Peninsula, Vietnam pleases all tourists with a diversity of topography, climate and thousands of years of history.
