The campaign introduces the world to new Brand Ambassador, Ruby, a souvenir kangaroo who is brought to life with CGI animation and is unmistakably Australian. TCEB’s “MICE Winnovation” programme wins UFI Marketing Award 2022 for “Best marketing strategy in a changing exhibition industry”. The award recognises the programme’s timeliness, originality, and impact on the exhibition industry.
Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) joined The UFI Award and Competition Programmes and was declared winner during the UFI European Conference held in Poznań, Poland. The award programme was organised to share best practices and showcase the most outstanding initiatives in six categories among UFI’s 812 members from 84 countries.
Routes Asia, which is held in a different location each year, brings together airlines, airports and tourism authorities to discuss air service strategy and future networks. Half of the region’s new air services are connected to meetings at the event.

RX Global, organiser of Arabian Travel Market (ATM), has revealed that 2022 could witness a resurgence in brand conscious travellers, following commentary it received from delegates attending its 2021 in-person and virtual seminars about responsible tourism.
This week, the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) announced the new position of their next chairwoman. Liz Ortiguera will take the position as the next CEO effective May 17, 2021, succeeding Dr. Mario Hardy who will finish his term at the end of May. The announcement was made at the Association’s Board Meeting held earlier.
PATA Chair Soon-Hwa Wong said, “We are delighted to welcome Liz to the PATA family, especially as she will be the first Asian American female CEO in PATA’s 70 year history. Her extensive leadership experience across different industries in the Asia Pacific region is what PATA needs to lead the Association to new heights. The Executive Board looks forward to working closely with her as we rebuild a more resilient, responsible, sustainable and stronger travel and tourism industry.”
