Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) announced that the value of its direct and indirect impact on the Abu Dhabi economy in 2018 registered AED3.41 billion, taking the total value of its contribution to the local economy since its inception in 2005 to AED32 billion (£6.6bn).
ADNEC’s strong 2018 results followed a 14 per cent growth in the number of events hosted by Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre and Al Ain Convention Centre (AACC), which collectively notched up a record 502 events in 2018, compared to 442 events in 2017. This brings the total number of events hosted by ADNEC’s venues since its inception 14 years ago to 3,390.

Dusit International signs to manage its first Dusit Thani branded hotel in Vietnam, near the ancient town of Hoi An. The five-star Dusit Thani Hoi An is slated to open in 2021 in a beautiful beachside setting only five kilometres from the old town centre. Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, has signed a hotel management agreement with Vietnam-based property developer Hoi An Royal Group to operate Dusit Thani Hoi An, the first Dusit Thani branded hotel in Vietnam.

Ireland is experiencing a slowdown in growth for international arrivals from 2018 to 2022, says GlobalData. Growth rates for Ireland and international arrivals have decreased significantly with the Compound Annual Growth Rates (CAGR) nearly half the rate for the previous years from 8.1% in 2014 to 2018, to 3.8% for 2018 to 2023, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
