September 26th, Germany. A cultural exhibition named “In Memory of Bygone Times: Exhibition about the Stay in China of the German Professor Hans Stübel” was held in Berlin, Germany, by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province. The event attracted a large number of German culture and tourism visitors. The event was strongly supported by the Hainan Provincial People’s Government and organized by the Hainan Museum in which fully displayed the results of the research on Chinese ethnology by the German anthropologist, Professor Stubel, and his profound friendship with the Hainan Island of China. Governor Shen Xiaoming of the Hainan Provincial People’s Government has shown guidance under his participation.

Hainan tourism promotion event was also held at the same time and has received high attention and recogonition from the local tourism industry. Jian Yang Chen – Minister Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Germany,Senthil Gopinath – CEO of ICCA, Enver Arslan- General Manager of Onur Air FLY, Dietmar Gunz – Managing Director of FTI Touristik GmbH, Ralf Ostendorf – Director Market Management at Berlin Tourismus & Kongress GmbH,and other representatives from local tourism industry and media in total of about 130 guests have attended the event. At this meeting, Director Sun Ying, Director of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, presented the new image and new products of Hainan tourism under the general background of the Hainan Pilot Free Trade Zone. She revealed the good news about the plan to open new direct flights from Sanya to Berlin, Frankfurt-Hahn, Dusseldorf in March next year. Minister-Counselor Chen Jianyang also highlighted the advantages of Hainan’s unique geographical environment and historical and cultural heritage, he has spoken highly of the great efforts that Hainan has made to build multi-connectivity among air, land and sea, and the development of the Hainan International Tourism Island.

The Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province and the International Congress and Convention Association have signed strategic agreement on promoting Hainan conference & exhibition industries and the internationalization of Hainan province. Sanya Holiday have signed strategic agreements with Onur Air FLY and FTI Touristik, to strengthen tourism cooperation and other business based the new direct flights from Sanya to Berlin, Frankfurt-Hahn, and Dusseldorf respectively. Germany is Hainan’s second-largest tourist resource in Europe. According to information, on the strength of the current route from Sanya to London, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province plans to further expand the German market by taking the advantage of Germany being the largest outbound tourism source in Europe, and committed to increasing the rate of Hainan’s international tourists.
