Ashly Balding teams with new CEO Michael Dominguez to lead the industry-leading
Global Sales Organization through its fourth decade of sales and service
Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ashly Balding as the new Chief Strategy Officer. As a 16-year company veteran, Ashly brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her newest position at ALHI, which serves as the leading independent Global Sales Organization for a collection of the world’s most prestigious hotels and resorts serving the meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition (MICE) marketplace.
In her new role, Ashly will oversee member communications, marketing, sales strategy and strategic business development.
Following three years of sales service at The Westin Hilton Head Island, Ashly started with ALHI in 2003 as National Sales Manager in the Atlanta office. She was later promoted to Director of Sales and then Vice President of Sales. In 2012, Ashly was named Regional Vice President, leading ALHI’s Southeast U.S. team to record sales achievements; and in 2015 she became Executive Vice President, providing leadership, coaching and business development. During her tenure, Ashly set a company record by receiving the ALHI President’s Award for “Outstanding Sales Performance” each consecutive year of eligibility. She was also twice awarded ALHI’s highest sales achievement recognition as the “Sales Executive of the Year,” and she continues to hold the company’s highest sales recorded in a single year.
Additionally, she works directly with her GSO team to lead ALHI’s executive level programs such as the Industry Executive Council, the Insurance and Financial Leadership Exchange and the Executive Women in Leadership. Most recently, Ashly was awarded by Smart Meetings as the “Smart Women in Meetings 2019: Innovator.”
“This is a great opportunity for the company to get nimble and member focused,” stated Michael Dominguez, ALHI’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Ashly will continue to support driving direct sales efforts in this strategic role by ensuring that we continue to deliver to our customer needs and our member hotels. As we believe that this industry is still relationship-driven and not transactional, Ashly is well suited to transition into her new role. Her knowledge and understanding of our organization, including its history, coupled with her long-standing relationships with our members and customers, make Ashly the ideal person to help us align ALHI’s strategy with our member needs and ensure our future success,” added Dominguez.
Ashly earned her degree in marketing and communications from The College of Charleston, where she currently serves her alma mater on the Hospitality & Tourism Management Executive Board. She is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and volunteers her time to non-profits such as The Bridges of Light Foundation and projects within her local community of Orlando, Florida, where she resides with her family.
“I am both humbled and joyful about this new opportunity to further assist our amazing organization and help our members compete and prosper,” said Ashly Balding. “We have a highly motivated team of professionals along with the absolute best collection of luxury hotels and resorts for meetings. Working with our GSO salesforce based throughout North America and Europe, I will continue to work to put people and our places together,” she added.
