Planners can ‘dive into the heart of Hamburg‘ and explore some of the most innovative and exciting new venues in the city – including a rollercoaster ride through one of the largest congress centres in Germany.
The Hamburg Convention Bureau (HCB) team – along with Paul the sailor! – will showcase some of the city’s most exciting and innovative venues on stand G100 at IMEX in Frankfurt, taking place 21 – 23 May 2019. These venues, many of which have only recently launched in the maritime city, range from the largest privately owned 5* conference hotel in Germany to a French-inspired boutique hotel.
Here are some of the new meeting and event spaces showcased by the HCB team:

•The modernised CCH – Congress Center Hamburg will be the largest of its kind in Germany when it reopens in 2020 with a 12,000 sqm exhibition area and 12,000 seats in up to 50 halls. Planners will be able to explore the new space via a virtual rollercoaster. A motion seat controlled by a hydraulic platform is synchronised with a short film watched using VR goggles, along with additional special effects.

•Jufa Hotel Hamburg HafenCity is a four-star, 200 room hotel located in the heart of Europe’s largest inner-city development project, HafenCity. It has five workshop and seminar rooms, hosting up to 500 participants.

•Tortue Hamburg is a boutique hotel with 160 rooms, offering a touch of French ‘bohemian savoir vivre’. It has three meeting rooms (two with access to the balcony) and private dining salons

•The 275-room Le Méridien Hamburg by Marriott now offers even more for planners – in addition to existing meeting facilities, a new annex will offer 6 impressive meeting rooms, 5 board rooms and 1 ballroom, many with views of the picturesque Alster Lake. This is rounded off by a two-storey rooftop bar and terrace.

•The Grand Elysee – the largest privately owned 5* conference hotel in Germany is also home to Hamburg largest hotel ballroom and 30 exclusive meeting and function rooms. It also has some impressive views, set in the heart of the Moorweidenpark.

•A room with a view is exactly what delegates will enjoy at the Empire Riverside Hotel – the bronze-clad tower designed by British star architect David Chipperfield has nine conference spaces with views over the city and the famous River Elbe.

Other exhibitors on the HCB stand include the greenest hotel in Germany – the Scandic; hip design hotels Gastwerk and SIDE; historic five-star Hotel Atlantic Kempinski; Marriott Hotel; Stage Entertainment, East Cosmos, offering beer tasting heaven in the iconic Elbphilharmonie; and conference technology experts Brähler ICS Konferenztechnik.
