Americas report solid growth– Latin America outperforms North America – Strong growth forecast for both regions in 2019 – ITB Berlin exclusively publishes latest World Travel Monitor® findings. With five per cent more international trips, outbound travel from the Americas has shown solid growth in 2018 with a plus of 5 per cent. In contrast to the previous year, where North American growth exceeded Latin America, the first eight months of 2018 reflected the contrary. While North American outbound travel increased by four per cent, Latin America was twice as strong with eight per cent more international trips. Looking at 2019, the latest results of the World Travel Monitor® by IPK International point to an uplift due to stronger growth in North America.

Tourist are coming back to Brussels in their droves. The numbers speak for themselves. In 2018, almost 8.5 million overnight stays were recorded in the capital. What’s more, the leisure tourism sector is undergoing a significant evolution and for the first time, is reaching the levels of the professional sector.
Every year, Brussels welcomes millions of visitors and the number of tourists visiting the capital has increased steadily over the past two years. 2018, the year of the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the tourist era in Brussels, ended on a positive note with a 8.7 % increase in overnight stays compared to 2017 (all types of accommodation combined).
