The 6th Chengdu International Tourism Expo 2018 (CITE) kicked off at the Century City International Exhibition Center in Chengdu yesterday with some 500 exhibitors from 30 countries- the largest event to-date. The highlight, as usual, was the business to business meetings between the exhibitors and local Chinese travel agencies.
In addition, the European Tour Operators Association held a concurrent seminar and business matching sessions with another 100 Chinese tour operators.
The evening gala dinner hosted by the Chengdu Municipal Tourism Administration at the Fairmount Hotel was the toast of the way with 150 Chinese and foreign guests.
Surprisingly, the Chengdu authorities honoured Edward Liu (CEO of CEMS) with an Honour Certificate in recognition of his contribution to the tourism industry in the city, by the Vice Mayor, Mr Wang Ping Jiang. CITE 2018 ends tomorrow.
