Hotel set to open in the Bavarian capital in December this year. 45-year old Thomas Fischer has been named as General Manager of the Steigenberger Hotel Munich. Himself a native of Munich, Mr. Fischer is able to offer wide-ranging experience in the hotel branch. He most recently worked as a General Manager for Corinthia Hotels & Resorts in London and Budapest, and prior to this fulfilled the same role for Kempinski Hotels & Resorts in cities including Frankfurt and Moscow.
Mr. Fischer (left)has completed a Masters degree in Business Administration and the “General Manager Program” offered by Cornell University in the USA.
COO Thomas Willms is delighted with this latest managerial appointment: “Thomas Fischer has a wealth of experience in the international hotel sector. Having been born in Munich, he is also highly familiar with the location. We are sure that the opening of the Steigenberger Hotel Munich will be a great success under his leadership.”

With the upcoming new opening, Deutsche Hospitality strengthens its presence on the domestic market and will be represented in the Bavarian metropolis not only by the IntercityHotel Munich, but also by the Steigenberger brand. The hotel will offer 292 rooms and suites. Guests will be provided with a restaurant serving up regional and international specialities and a bar with a cosy lounge complete with fireplace. There will also be a 14-room conference and events area as well as a gym, health and beauty spa facility.

Deutsche Hospitality brings together three separate hotel brands – Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts, Jaz in the City und IntercityHotel. The Deutsche Hospitality brand encompasses a total of 130 hotels on three continents, 26 of which are at the development stage. The portfolio includes 60 Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts, 42 IntercityHotels and 2 Jaz Hotels. The first Jaz Hotel opened in Amsterdam in November 2015, followed by a second in Sousse in April 2017.
