The 4th Chengdu International Tourism Expo (CITE) 2016, will be held at New Century City International Convention Centre from 2 to 4 December 2016, Mr Edward Liu, Group Managing Director of Conference & Exhibitions Management Services Pte Ltd and CEMS (Bejing) Conference and Exhibitions Co., Ltd, announced at a press conference held at the Tourism Administration of Sichuan Province.
The exhibition, organised by Conference & Exhibitions Management Service Pte Ltd and CEMS (Bejing) Conference and Exhibitons Co., Ltd, and supported by Tourism Administration of Sichuan Province, Sichuan Provincial Tourism Association, Chengdu Municipal Tourism Administration and Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Exposition, is one of the leading tourism exhibitions in western China – it has become a globalised, diversified, influential and effective international tourism exhibition.

This year, more than 400 exhibitors from over 40 countries are expected to participate in the exhibition that is expected to span over 10,000 square metres. The organisers also expect 6,500 international and local trade visitors and 20,000 public visitors. More than 400 international and local hosted buyers will also visit CITE 2016.

Mr Liu, also shared some of the highlights of CITE 2016. One of the highlights that differentiate
CITE 2016 apart from the previous three editions is the addition of the business travel and niche
tourism pavilions.
In the same press conference, Mr Liu also shared that for the first time, visitors and hosted buyers at CITE 2016 will see the addition of the business travel and niche tourism pavilions. Both pavilions will showcase the less-explored destinations for incentive and luxury travellers, fully demonstrating that Sichuan is “more than just pandas”.

Another highlight this year is the enhancement to the Hosted Buyers Programme. This year, the organisers have specially invited the managers in charge of incentive travels for some of the biggest corporations in China. Exhibitors can look forward to fruitful Buyers-Sellers Meeting sessions and negotiating mutually beneficial business collaborations, including investment firms, e-commerce associations and the Asia Pacific Congress of Aerospace Medicine.

CITE 2016 will also feature 2 of the largest online travel agencies in China. Tong Cheng will be joining a longtime supporter in the CITE series – Tuniu. Together with other local travel agencies, they will form the consumer sales pavilion, offering attractive tour packages to visitors.

The various enhancements lined up will make CITE 2016 a more diversified, globalised, niched exhibition for exhibitors and visitors to make use of the opportunities present to engage in collaboration and synergise on the strengths of one another.
