The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – announced today two new appointments to its European Advisory Board: Mia Andersson Global Programme Manager for biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and Bernd Schulz, General Manager, Amadeus Germany.
GBTA Europe’s President Advisory Board Chair, Gehan Colliander said, “We are delighted to welcome such experienced and talented business professionals to the GBTA Europe Advisory Board. As GBTA goes from strength to strength in Europe, and the challenges our industry faces evolve, it is more important than ever to have individuals of this calibre to help guide the association to ensure it anticipates and meets the needs of it members.”

Mia Andersson is responsible for managing the Global Business Travel Demand in 30+ countries. Based in Sodertalje, Sweden with more than 25 years of experience in travel management with a mix of TMCs and corporates, she is experienced in leading global teams both in the area of Supply and Demand and is passionate about creating a high performing team environment with focus on delivering results. Mia has been a strong supporter of GBTA for a number of years both as a member of the Strategic Benchmark Group and the GBTA Europe Aviation Committee.

Bernd Schulz was appointed General Manager of Amadeus Germany as of 1st July 2012. Based in Bad Homburg, Germany, he leads the Sales, Marketing, Product Management & Delivery, and Development teams. He also has responsibility for the Swiss and Austrian markets.

Before working for Amadeus, Bernd Schulz was the Manager of Global Travel Procurement from 1999 to 2008, and later the Head of Global Travel Management for Siemens. In this role he headed up not only the global strategic direction of the travel management and the management of on- and offline booking processes, but also the global negotiations with, among others, airlines, hotels, travel agencies and GDS’s. He started his career as a travel agent for Deutsches Reisebüro where he worked in various functions, most recently as President of DER Travel Service Ltd. in Toronto, Canada. Since April 2013 Bernd Schulz has been member of the board of the German Business Travel Association (VDR) in Frankfurt/Main.
