Firefly, Malaysia Airline’s regional airline, will be offering flights headed for Singapore from various destinations in Malaysia starting from July, 2009. This will include four flights a day departing from Kuala Lumpur’s city airport SkyPark Subang headed for Singapore (Changi Budget Terminal), with the corresponding four flights a day from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. Firefly will also offer four flights a week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) from Ipoh to Singapore and from Singapore to Ipoh.

The airline will also connect Malaysia’s east coast to Singapore: There will be three flights (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) from Kuala Terengganu to Singapore, as well as four flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) departing from Kuantan. Flights from Singapore to Terengganu and Kuantan, respectively, will depart on the same days of the week.

Starting from September, Firefly will also be heading for Singapore from the historic city of Melaka and vice versa, both three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).

Passengers flying Firefly enjoy full service at affordable rates: convenient check-in, 20kg of free allowance, dedicated seats and free drinks and snacks on board.

These new flight connections will especially make the hotels of YTL hotel group more convenient to reach coming from Singapore. Cameron Highlands Resort and Pangkor Laut Resort on the private island by the same name, for example, are only a short drive from Ipoh. The luxurious Tanjong Jara Resort lies right between Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu, and The Majaestic Melaka is situated right in the city of Melaka.
