Cultural diversity coupled with a good price-performance ratio – those are the characteristics that the German capital of Berlin attracts international convention and meeting planners with in times of crisis. This was the conclusion of Meeting Place Berlin, held from July 2 to 6 at the Museum of Technology. Some 150 attendees, including visitors from the USA, Russia and Italy, used the international workshop to get to know the convention destination of Berlin.
For the fifth time now, the Meeting Place Berlin was organized by the Berlin Convention Office under Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH (BTM). 47 exhibitors from the Berlin conventions and events industry provided information on the German capital’s range of offers. Particularly Berlin’s diverse range of events, its modern hotel landscape and its environmentally friendly offers at exceptional rates were met with much interest. In cooperation with the partner associations of „BTM-Partnerhotels e.V.“ and „BTM Partneragenturen Berlin e.V.“, the participants were offered an entertainment program alongside the workshop, the highlight of which was a classic open-air concert at Gendarmenmarkt.
Burkhard Kieker, chairman of Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH: „The conventions segment marks one of the most important economic factors for the German capital. I am delighted that so many decision makers in the international conventions and meetings industry have taken up on our invitations. They have gotten to know Berlin as an attractive venue for their events, offering them an exceptional infrastructure at a very good price-performance ratio.“
